Controls, hotkeys & bubble

Bulbul gives you several ways to start and stop dictation. Choose the one that disappears into your working rhythm.

Hold-to-talk hotkey

Hold a global shortcut, speak, and release. Bulbul can use ordinary key combinations and modifier-only chords such as Ctrl + Win on Windows. Set a second Polish hotkey to force the Polished cleanup mode without changing your usual setting.

Tap-to-talk

With tap-to-talk enabled, the first press starts recording and the next press stops it. It is useful when holding a shortcut is inconvenient or when you need to speak for longer.

Mouse mode

Bind a mouse button—middle-click by default—to start and stop dictation independently of the keyboard. This is ideal for pen, trackball, and mouse-heavy workflows.

Floating pill on desktop

The listening pill shows that Bulbul is active. Pin it to the bottom-left, bottom-center, or bottom-right of the screen so it stays out of your way.
