Privacy & data

Your audio

Bulbul sends the audio you choose to dictate directly to Groq for transcription and cleanup. Review Groq’s privacy policy  before dictating sensitive material.

Your local data

Dictation history, dictionary entries, snippets, transforms, settings, and insights are stored locally in Bulbul’s SQLite database on your device. Bulbul does not operate a server that stores your transcripts.

Anonymous usage statistics

Bulbul can send anonymous counts, durations, and error categories to help the maintainer understand what works. It never includes transcripts, audio, dictionary contents, or the apps you dictate into. Turn this off in Settings → Privacy whenever you prefer.

Your choices

Delete individual history items, clear local data, back up the database, and revoke device permissions through your operating system at any time.
